Did you know that Warren A. Huddleston was born in Indiana, that he was graduated from an Indiana university; served in the navy and won 15 battle stars; that he has been associated with Schultz Brothers company for nine years; and that he enjoys the out of door games and sports?

Warren Huddleston was born in Pulaski, Ind., May 15, 1923, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Huddleston, Sr.  he received his early education in Chicago, returning to Indiana to attend high school, and in 1943 was graduated from Pulaski High School.

In the fall of 1943, he entered the navy.  After "boot" training at Great Lakes, he was assigned to the U. S. S. Enterprise, an aircraft carrier, where he served as an Aviation Machinist Mate, 2nd Class, with duties as plane director.

During 30 months of service, Mr. Huddleston served under Admiral "Bull" Halsey in the areas of New Guinea, Leyte, Philippines, Marshalls and Okinawa, during which time he received two battle stars in the Philippine liberation and 13 battle stars in other Asiatic-Pacific battles.  In May 1945, the top deck was blown from the carrier Enterprise and the crippled carrier was returned to the Bremerton Navy yard, Washington, for repairs.

With his ship out of action, Huddleston was transferred to the Franklin D. Roosevelt, an aircraft carrier on which he served from December, 1945, to the spring of 1946 in the Atlantic and South Atlantic areas.  On March 26, 1946, he received his honorable discharge.

In the fall of 1946, Mr. Huddleston entered the University of Indiana where he took a course in accounting, majoring in business administration.  He was graduated in 1948.

Immediately after graduating he entered the employ of Schultz Brothers Company at Winamac, Ind., as assistant manager.

He went to Knox, Ind., and Monticello, Ia., and in 1952 he became manager of the store at Hoopeston, Ill.  In 1953 he was transferred to Wisconsin as manager of a newly-opened Schultz store at Spooner.  On October 1, 1957, he came to Neillsville to manage the new Schultz store.

Mr. Huddleston was married August 29, 1946, to Miss Glenna Thompson at Winamac, Ind., and to this union a son, Craig, who will be seven December 13, was born.

Mr. Huddleston has a sister, Mrs. Jane Inks, in Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Giles, in France; and a brother, Bill, in California.  His father died in 1954.  His mother makes her home in Sacramento, Calif.

As a boy in school, Warren Huddleston played baseball and basketball, was on the high school basketball team, and in recent years he has taken much interest in golf.  Interest in bird hunting and trout fishing, which started in his boyhood, was nourished during the four years he lived in the Indianhead country of Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Huddleston are living at 221 West Street. Craig attends the Southside Grade School.  The Huddlestons are member of the Methodist Church.  Mr. Huddleston also is a member of the Masonic order.
