Craig, Harry #2 (30 APR 1899 - 21 APR 1955)

 

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 o’clock from the Alliance Church for Harry Augustus Craig.  He was born April 30, 1899 at Fairchild, Wis.  He spent all of his life in Wisconsin with the exception of two years spent in the Armed Forces serving in Guam and the Philippines.

 

After being discharged he returned to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and started a greenhouse first as a hobby which turned into an ever increasing business.

 

Those surviving are his wife, Vera, three sons, Wilbur of Kansas City, Harry Jr. of the Island of Guam and Ardis of Minnesota and one daughter, Virginia of California; two brothers, Frank of California and Newell of Racine, three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Bender, Mrs. Nellie Wilson, and Mrs. Frank (Della) White of Owen; and two step-daughters, Ruth and Arlene.

 

Pallbearers were his son, Wilbur, and nephews, Frank Craig, Richard Bender, Newell (Mickey) Wilson and Dan White, Newell (Buddy) Craig.

 

Those in charge of floral pieces were Mrs. Bonita Bender, Mrs. Patricia Ritter, Mrs. S. E. Grimes, Mrs. Scotch Copper and Mrs. Harriet Fry.

 

Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Craig of Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Newell Craig and son, Bud, of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Craig and so Jim of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Dan White of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bender of Rice Lake.  His brother from California started to come but because of car trouble didn’t arrive in time for the funeral.

 

Mr. Emil Arp of California, Mrs. Grace Hunujager of Janesville, Mrs. Julian Anderson of Bartlett, Ill., Mrs. Ed Sharpee of Union Grove, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dyre of Greenwood, Wis., Mrs. Jim Jacobson of Dodgeville, Wis., and Arlene Arp of Minneapolis.
