Holmes, Leslie A. (9 November 1881 - 25 February 1958) 
 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday for Leslie A. Holmes, 76, who died February 25, at his home at 415 W. 4th Street Neillsville.  Services will be held from the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiating.  Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

Mr. Holmes, son of the late Albert and Carrie (Downer) Holmes, was born November 9, 1881, in the Town of York.  He received his education in the rural schools and worked on his father’s farm.  He also spent some time in Montana. 
 

On October 4, 1922, he was married to Amanda Yunker at Neillsville, and had resided in the city since.  He was employed in the canning factory and was an employee of the city for over 20 years.  Five years ago he retired, due to ill health. 
 

He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Ockerl of Rt. 3 Neillsville. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Wm. A. Campman of Neillsville, and two grandchildren.
