Stowe, Otis #2 (30 MAY 1895 - 7 JUL 1955)

 

Numerous friends and relatives of Otis Stowe viewed his remains while they lay in state at Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home Saturday and Sunday, and were in attendance at the funeral services held Monday, July 11th, from the Alliance Church, city.  Rev. H. D. Wagner, pastor of the parish, officiated at the final rites while Mrs. Lillian Jensen Abbotsford, was in charge of the graveside service.

 

Acting as pallbearers were William and Lewis McNitt, Marlin Larsen, Clarence Nelson, Elmer Jensen and Ole Hanson.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Robert Grace, Mrs. Fred Smith and Arlene Twin.

 

Otis Stowe, 60, was born on May 30, 1895, in the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.) and passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Thursday, July 7, 1955, following a major operation.

 

A pioneer resident of this community he lived for many years in the town of Beaver, but later moved and farmed in the towns of Longwood and Mayville before returning to the town of Beaver.

 

On the 28th of October, 1916, he married Ruth Twing in a ceremony performed in his native township.

 

Today his passing is mourned by his wife, two sons, Melvin of Bloomer and Harold of Curtiss, one daughter, Mrs. Clara Vine of Evansville, Wis., and one grandchild.  One son, Lawrence, preceded him in death, being killed in action during World War II.
