Nason, Priscilla (30 JUL 1955)

Amid a setting of ferns, Caledonia roses, white gladiolas and cathedral tapers, an event of social interest to members of this community took place on Saturday, July 30, 1955, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Frances House, Episcopal Church Chapel on the University of Wisconsin campus, when Priscilla Ann (Ticky) Nelson was given in marriage by her father, Dr. M. V. Nason to Philip Harold Parker, Jr., son of Mrs. P. H. Parker, West Point, Ga., and the late Mr. Parker.

The bride, attired in a white crystalette gown with floor length tiered skirt wore a half crown of raised leaves, each leaf centered with a pearl.  From this crown flowed a veil of illusion net and Belgium lace, which was recently purchased by the groom’s mother in Brussels.  She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and blue carnations with a cascade of cotillion blue ribbons showered with white roses.

Miss Sandra Nason, Chicago, a cousin of the bride, gracefully performed her duties as maid of honor in a cotillion blue waltz length gown fashioned with a highly flared skirt, scoop neck and large bustle bow.  She carried a simple colonial bouquet of white roses with ribbons matching her headband and gloves.

Serving as best man for his roommate was Mr. Kenneth Siebrasse, Edmonton, Canada, while Dr. David Powell, Sydney, Australia, and Mr. Rodger Short, London, England, served as ushers.

Immediately following the ceremony the guests were greeted in the outer foyer of the chapel followed by a five course dinner served at the Top Hat Club.  The large wedding cake which decorated the center of the table was cut by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. R. S. Nason, Chicago.

After a brief honeymoon at Wis. Dells Mr. and Mrs. Parker will be at home at 926 Milton St., Madison, until late fall when Mr. Parker will be employed by CAL Research Laboratories of San Francisco and Mrs. Parker will continue her studies at the University of California.

Prenuptial events in Madison included a buffet supper and garden party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gretzinger prior to the wedding rehearsal on Friday evening.

Miss Jacqueline Hotmar, Princeton, and Miss Cecile Butnam, Green Bay, were hostesses to a one o’clock luncheon for the wedding party and all out of town guests on Saturday.

On Sunday afternoon Dr. and Mrs. Nason entertained all guests at a farewell cake and coke party at the Hoofer Sailing Club Pier.
