Thorson, Darleen (6 AUG 1955)

The wedding of Darleen Thorson, daughter of former Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) residents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Thorson, 3950 Dakota Av., St. Louis Park, Minn., to Mr. Gerald Albright, son of Dr. and Mrs. R. J. Albright, Lafayette, Minn., took place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 1955, at Union Congregational Church, St. Louis Park, Minn.  The double ring candlelight ceremony was performed by Rev. Einar Martinson.

The bride approached the altar on the arm of her father and wore a gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle yoke and the neckline outlined with circlets of lace.  The very bouffant tulle skirt was fashioned with a triangle of lace and the tulle over satin swept into a chapel length train.  From her crown of tulle and satin was arranged a fingertip veil of silk illusion.

Barbara Albright, cousin of the groom, was maid of honor, and Dr. R. J. Albright, father of the groom, served as best man.  Other attendants included Virginia Christopherson, James Schaefer, Terry Thorson and Dan Albright.

A reception following the ceremony was held in the church’s parlor.

The groom’s parents were hosts at a bridal dinner held at Lilac Lanes on August 5.

The bride will graduate from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing on Sept. 9.  Her husband is a sophomore in the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota.

Mr. and Mrs. Albright will be at home in Minneapolis after a honeymoon in northern Minnesota.
