Bonnie J. Yurkovich, 55, Willard, died on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, after a very courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Bonnie jean Yurkovich was born on Oct. 18, 1954, in Neillsville, to Valentine and Sylvia (nee Jelercic) Yurkovich. She was raised on a farm near Willard and received her education in the Willard area, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1972. She then attended Western Wisconsin Technical College, La Crosse, where she studied to be a surgical technician. After completing her schooling, she worked at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, as a surgical technician for 26 years and helped on the family farm. She worked at Land O’ Lakes, Greenwood, for three years, and then returned to the family farm to work full time. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, baking, and making wedding cakes, sewing, traveling, crafts, collecting antiques, deer hunting, sking and sports. She loved Brewer baseball and traveled to Florida for spring training several times.
She will be dearly missed by her mother, Sylvia Yurkovich, Willard; five siblings, Richard (Gabriella) Yurkovich, Willard, Mary Jo (Dennis) Sischo, Neillsville, Edward (Peggy) Yurkovich, Willard, Kitty (Dale) Wolf, Loyal. And Luke (Judy) Yurkovich, Willard. She was a very devoted aunt to Aaron (Cheryl) Sischo and their children, Brady and Aiden Sischo, Lacey (Stephen) Morris and their daughter, Zoe Morris, Amy Yukovich, Mitch (Charissa) Yurkovich and their children, Parker, Kamdyn and Teagon Yurkovich, Kimberly (Michael) Anderson, Phil Yurkovich, Mike Wolf, Caroline Wolf and Brenden Yurkovich. She is further survived by cousins and many friends.
Preceding her in death was her father, Valentine, on Oct. 21, 1996.
