Winkler, Jessie "Mo" (08 NOV 1983-18 MAR 2010)

 

Jessie R. Winkler, known as "Mo" to most, 26, Granton, died on Thursday, March 18, 2010, as a result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident in rural Granton. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 23, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. Alan Dunham officiated, Burial was held in the Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery, Granton. Serving as casket bearers were Jim Newman, Bruce Vine, Jamie Vine, Willy Montgomery, Jon Peek and Andy Beilke. Honorary casket bearer was Johnny Elmhorst.

 

Jessie R. Winkler was born on Nov. 8, 1983, in Marshfield, and was a longtime resident of Granton. He attended Granton schools and graduated from Granton High School in 2002. He worked as a concrete worker for Design Concrete. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed playing darts, pool and spending time with his friends and family.

 

Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Sarah Winklere, Granton; two sisters, Tina (Jon) Martinson, Eau Claire, and Renee (Nathan) Schroeder, Neillsville; one brother, Shaun (Christina) Winkler, Granton; his paternal grandparents, Tena Winkler, Green Bay, and Bruce Winkler, Neillsville; maternal grandfather, Ray Newman, Nekoosa; Great-grandmother, Elsie Winkler, Granton; three nieces, Abigail, Baylee and KayLynn; three nephews, Payton, Hayden, and Parker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandmother, Dolores Newman; and his great-grandparents, Gordon and Ella Sautner; his great-grandfather, Helmuth Winkler; and a cousin, Tracy Mohr.

 

Memorials may be directed to his family for a donation at a later date.
