Kennedy, Bessie (County Superintendent of
Schools - 11 Nov 1912)
Miss Bessie Kennedy, county superintendent of schools, went to Dorchester Monday to visit schools in that vicinity. Miss Kennedy has personally visited over half the schools in the county and expects soon to have completed the list. Miss Kennedy has inaugurated a new department in the schools of the county, having organized them into institute districts. The teachers in each district meet at given times, listen to addresses and discuss various methods and problems that come to them in their daily work. Last Saturday an institute was held at Granton, with about 25 teachers present, and a week ago Saturday a district institute was held here. These conventions and other plans that Miss Kennedy is making cannot but work to the betterment of the county schools and awaken a lively interest.
