Neibacher, Alvina (24 DEC 1878 - 5 JUL 1956)

It pleased Almighty God to summon the soul of Mrs. Alvina Neibacher, who was a patient at the Havenet Nursing Home for many months of the past year, out of this earth to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 5, 1956, shortly before the hour of noon.  She attained the age of 77 years, 6 months and 11 days.  She is survived by her five children: Edmund Neibacher of Inglewood, Calif.; Oscar Neibacher of Owen; Irene, Mrs. Herman Klocke of Curtiss; Mrs. Charles Zech (Violet) of Inglewood, Calif.; and Avis, Mrs. Roland Werner, also of Inglewood.  There were also 10 grandsons and five granddaughters, all whom mourn her passing.  The deceased is bereaved also by one brother, Mr. Ewald Voge of Elmhurst, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. William Volkens of Oak Park, Ill.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 24, 1878, and baptized, confirmed, and married there in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.  Her husband, Adolph Neibacher, preceded her in death a number of years ago.

The Adolph Neibacher family moved to a farm north of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1916.  As times were hard, the husband had to help earn some money, so worked in Chicago part of the time, while his wife, the deceased, took care of the farm as well as she could, besides watching over her five children.  She thanked God for helping her and the family in times of trouble.

Her faith was active, and her talents were put to good use while she and her family were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee.  The Ladies’ Aid Society elected her the first president, a position which she held with distinction and to the glory of her Savior.  But she was also known for her many faithful deeds of kindness to her immediate neighbors, with whom she lived together in the same community for many years.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, July 7, at 2:00 o’clock, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Withee.  Pastor Predoehl preaching on John 11:28, "The Master Is Come and He Calleth for Thee."  Mrs. Albert Petke, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Herman Rabska, sang two favorite hymns of the departed, "The Old Rugged Cross" and in German, "Lass Mich Gehn."

Pallbearers were: Messrs. Adolph Cizek, Julius Cizek, Pierce, Owens, Sr., Richard Rabska, George Hamm and Charles Buchholz.  The wives of the pallbearers were in charge of the flowers.

The Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home of Owen was in charge of arrangements.  The burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.

May God comfort the survivors with the assurance that she is with her Savior and the knowledge that they may see her again through faith in Him who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, even Jesus Christ.
