Cizek/Cizik, Walter (1916? - 15 JAN 1957)

Word was received Wednesday of the sudden death of Walter Cizek, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Cizek.  Walter, who had reached the age of 40 years, died of a heart attack Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1957, while working as an electrician in the control room of an airplane firm in the state of California.  For the past year he had resided in Gardena, Calif. with his wife and three young daughters, Barbara, Linda and Mary.

Walter, who was born in Chicago, Ill., moved to Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), together with his parents, when he was five years of age.  He was the first, along with all of his surviving brothers and sisters, to attend the Frenchtown School.  After attending withee High School, he joined the army and was stationed at Fort Sheridan, Ill., for four years.  Shortly after his stay there he was married to Gladys Hoffmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hoffmann of Chicago.  During World War II he spent three years helping to defend his country in Italy.  In the years that following, up until his death, he was an electrician.

As a boy, he attended and was confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee.  With his untimely death he is survived by his wife, Gladys and three daughters; his parents; four brothers; Earl of Chicago, Ill.; Ray of Madison; Clarence of Chippewa Falls, Norman of Oak Park, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Trumbo of Wilmington, Del.; Mrs. Geer (Sylvia) Rex of Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Don (Lorraine) Parsons of Oak Park, Ill.; Inez of Hyattsville, Md.; and Mrs. Jim (June) Kongabel of Park Ridge, Ill.  Also, his father-in-law, Mr. Ernest Hoffmann and two brothers-in-law, Ed and Art Hoffmann, all of Chicago.  His mother-in-law preceded him in death.
