Hiebsch, Dorothy (27 MAY 1957)

Two young people, well known in this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage in a lovely church ceremony attended by immediate members of the two families on Monday, May 27th, 1957.  In a ceremony performed at 9:30 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, Miss Dorothy Annette Hiebsch became the bride of Phillip John Lukowicz.  The Rev. Hubert Crubel officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hiebsch, city, while the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lukowicz, also of this city.

Lace over taffeta fashioned the ballerina length gown chosen by the bride; it was styled with fitted bodice and full skirt.  With it she wore a pearl studded crown of lace to which her fingertip veil was attached, and carried a white orchid, and carried a white orchid surrounded by Stephanotis.

Identical dress of white lace over blue taffeta were worn by her sisters, Mrs. Lois Greschner as matron of honor, and Mrs. Mary Lehnen as bridesmaid.  They are residents of Withee and Owen respectively.

Blue picture hats and shoes were chosen for color accents, along with bouquets of Ester Reed daisies.

Dennis De Decker of Beloit attended the bridegroom as best man, while groomsman was another close friend and college classmate, Jay Thurston of Winter, Wis.

Following the ceremony the bridal party were honored at a breakfast at the home of the bride’s parents and later in the day a dinner was served for the wedding party, their families and immediate close friends at the Coral Room in Colby.  The couple then left on a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.

Mrs. Lukowicz was graduated from the Owen High School with the class of 1955, later was graduated from Gale Institute, Minneapolis, and since that time has been employed in that city.

Mr. Lukowicz was a 1953 graduate of the Owen High School and this week will be graduated from Wis. State College at Stevens Point, where he has been majoring in the field of conservation.
