Karaba, Betty (8 JUN 1957)

Spending a Canadian honeymoon are Mr. and Mrs. Duane Peissig, who were married Saturday, June 8, 1957, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, in the presence of the pastor, the Rev. H. L. Crubel.  The newlyweds are son and daughter of Mrs. William Peissig, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) and Mr. and Mrs. Vendel Karaba, Owen (Clark Co.).

Miss Margie Karaba, Owen, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a Nile green floor length dress and carrying green tinted and white carnations.  Mrs. John Karaba, West Allis, in yellow and Miss Barbara Peissig, sister of the groom in orchid, were the bridesmaids.  Their gowns were styled like the maid of honor’s and their flowers were tinted to match their ensembles.

The bridal gown was made of nylon and lace.  She carried red roses and white carnations.

Dale Peissig, Withee, was his brother’s best man with John Karaba, brother of the bride from West Allis, and Leonard Sluzewski, Owen, serving as groomsmen.

The bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother donned a beige dress and matching accessories.  Both had a corsage of red roses and white carnations.

Wedding guests from Wis. Rapids, St. Cloud, Park Falls, Stetsonville, Taylor, Kentucky, Medford, Owen and Milwaukee attended the wedding rites and the dinner, which was served at the Owen Legion Hall.  The reception was held there from 2 to 6 p.m.

The bride, a 1954 graduate of Owen High School, is employed by the A. C. Sparkplug Co., Milwaukee, where her husband, a 1951 graduate of Withee High School, works at Johnson Service.  Milwaukee will be their home.
