Hansen, Frederick M. (21 MAY 1874 - 20 JUN 1957)

 

Funeral services were conducted June 24th at 1:30 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church for Frederick M. Hansen who passed away June 20th, 1957 in Washington, D.C. Rev. Clayton Nielsen officiated.  Two solos were sung by Mrs. Viggo Hansen, and music was furnished by Miss Louise Hansen.

 

Frederick M. Hansen was born in Denmark on May 21, 1874.  He came to the United States at the age of 15 years.  He joined the U.S. Army in 1896, and served in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War.  He made the army his career, and served as recruiting officer in Nebraska, Texas and Minnesota until his retirement in 1924.  He has since traveled extensively, making his home in Florida during the winter months.  Due to illness he retired to the U.S. Soldiers Home Hospital in Washington, D.C. last October, and it was here that he passed away.

 

He was preceded in death by one brother Charles, and one sister Anine, Mrs. Jens Jorgenson.  He is survived by a niece, Mrs. Wm. Hoeper of Owen.

 

Pallbearers were Paul Bladl, Paul Bladl, Jr., John Bacon, Peter Jensen, Martin Paulson and Fred Hoeper.  Flowers were carried by Mrs. Paul Bladl.  Mrs. Patricia Lammel, Mrs. Martin Paulsen and Mrs. Fred Hoeper.

 

Out of town friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen and Mrs. Calvin Newman and son Roger of Waupaca and Ronald Jensen of Kenosha.

 

Interment was made in the church cemetery.
