Lindau, Shirley (22 JUN 1957)

A white carpet covered the aisle of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon, when Miss Shirley Ann Lindau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lindau, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), was taken in marriage by Verdayne D. Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis R. Hanson, Osseo.  The Rev. Martin Krause officiated at the 2 o’clock service.

The bride was attended by Miss Marie Beede, a friend from River Falls, who acted as maid of honor.  Miss Beede’s dress was orchid tulle, and she carried a white lace basket filled with white daisies and orchid mums.

Fred Beede, a friend from River Falls, served the groom as best man.  Ross Fiedler, Minneapolis, and David Lindau, the bride’s brother, were ushers.

The bride was escorted down the white carpeted aisle by her father.  She wore a gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over satin, its bouffant skirt being detailed with appliquéd flowers.  The bodices’s scooped neckline complemented the line of the long lace sleeves.  Her imported French illusion veil cascaded from a crown of seed pearls and iridescent sequins, and she carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and white daisies.

Navy blue with white accessories was chosen by the bride’s mother for her dress.  The groom’s mother appeared in light blue and white, and both had corsages of pink and white carnations.  Music was provided by the organist, Miss Barbara Sommers, and the soloist, mrs. Martin Krause, singing "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord is my Shepherd."

One hundred and fifty guests attended the reception and luncheon held at the home of the bride.

Following a short honeymoon tour of northern Wisconsin, the couple will make their home in Madison, where the groom is enrolled at the University of Wisconsin.  He is a graduate of Osseo High School.   His bride graduated from Owen High School and the Eau Claire Vocational School.
