Stewart, Romona L. (6 JUL 1957)

A college romance ended at the altar of the First congregational Church, Owen, Saturday morning, when Miss Ramona Lee Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T. Stewart, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was taken in marriage by Marlon J. Scharf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scharf, Lomira.  The Rev. Roger Steiner and the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh officiated at the ceremony which saw the two Stout State College graduates became man and wife.

Miss Evanell Olstad, college roommate of the bride, preceded her down the aisle as maid of honor, followed by Miss Shirley Scharf, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid.  The girls were attired in floor length gowns of white silk and acetate, styled along princess lines and accented with gold bows and hats.  Yellow and white flowers filled the white baskets they carried.

Thomas Voight came from Fort Riley, Kan., to serve his friend as best man.  Lanny Stewart, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman.  Completing the retinue of attendants was Miss Christine Vossekuil, Waupun, as flower girl, in a gown which was a replica of the bride’s.

The bride appeared in a floor length gown of lace and tulle accented with a lace redingote.  Her crown headpiece caught their fingertip veil of illusion, and white Fugi mums were fashioned into her bouquet.

A lawn reception at the home of the bride was served and prepeared by the Ladies Aid of the church.  Waitresses were Misses Jean Albert, Elaine Christensen, Janet Rasmussen, and Shirley Zimbel.

A home in Dowagiac, Mich., awaits the couple when they return from a honeymoon tour of the Black Hill and Yellowstone National Park.  The bride will teach home economics in the Niles Township Jr. High, Mich., and the groom will teach industrial arts at Bangar High School, Bangar, Mich.
