Preisinger, Rueben C. (16 FEB 1930 - 28 JUN 2010)

 

COLBY -- Rueben C. Preisinger, 80, of Colby, formerly of Butternut, passed away at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield on June 28, 2010, with his family by his side.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Friends may call for a memorial gathering one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at Union Cemetery in Butternut.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Rueben was born Feb. 16, 1930, to Rupert and Olga (Christianson) Preisinger in Colfax. He attended Butternut Country School. He was drafted to the Army where he served overseas in Germany. He married the love of his life, Delores Sturm, on Aug. 1, 1953.

Rueben worked to support his family at St. Croix Corp. and later at Genex until the time of his retirement. He was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby and a member of the Colby Lions Club.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Delores of Colby; children, Judy (Stephen) Bucheger of Granton and Mike (Marie) Preisinger of Colby. He was the proud grandpa of seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Samantha, Stephanie, Albert, Ryan and Jena; and four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Betty Malmin and Carol (Duane) Meye; and one brother, Robert (Lynda) Preisinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Roland, Darol and Roger Preisinger.
