Pipkorn, Louis (24 MAR 1876 - 10 APR 1948)
Louis H. Pipkorn, 72, who had been a resident of Unity for 43 years, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 10, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield where he had been a patient since Apr. 2. He had been suffering from a heart ailment and was hospitalized intermittently for the last six months.
Funeral services were held in the Loyal Methodist church at 2 o’clock last Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Lee H. Holmes officiated at the services, and burial was in the Beaver cemetery.
Pallbearers were Art Wisnosky, Ed Kuester, John Widmar, Bill Zastrow, George Foelsch and Martin Roidt. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Roy Pipkorn, Mrs. Art Wisnosky, Mrs. Vern Pipkorn, Mrs. John Widmar and Mrs. Bill Goetz.
The deceased was born on Mar. 24, 1876, in the town of Fremont, and he was married in the town of Unity.
Surviving besides his wife, Bertha, are four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Hattie) Kroll of Marshfield, Mrs. Emil (Doris) Haavisto of Owen, Mrs. Adolph (Adeline) Thiel of Loyal, and Velma Pipkorn at home, and seven sons, Oscar, Fred, Otto, Leo, Adolph and Louis, at home, and Bernard of Waupaca. One sister, Mrs. Henry Schwartzsager of Oshkosh and 14 grandchildren also survive.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pipkorn of Waupaca, Mrs. Henry Schwartzsager of Oshkosh and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Quackenbusch of Antigo.
