Wudtke, Ardys (16 MAY 1948)

Miss Aryds June Wudtke chose a white tailored gabardine suit for her marriage on Saturday afternoon, May 16, to Carl J. Stayton. The Rev. Mr. Benecke read the 2:30 ceremony at Immanul Lutheran church in Cecil.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wudtke of Cecil, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stayton of Loyal.

Miss Alice Klapper of Green Bay was maid of honor. She wore a pink gabardine suit and  navy accessories, and she carried white roses. The flower girl was Kathleen Wager of Fond du Lac, a niece of the bride, who wore a white gabardine suit.

The groom’s brother, Robert Stayton, served as best man, while Victor Wudtke, brother of the bride, and Ross Brietzman were ushers.

Flashlight pictures of the ceremony were taken by Robert Fink.

The home was beautifully decorated in streamers of pastel colors and cut flowers. The bride’s table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake, decorated with pink and white streamers and red roses and topped with a miniature bridal couple. Dinner was served to 65 guests, and about 100 friends attended the reception.

Mr. Stayton is a graduate of the Loyal high school with the class of 1943. He recently sold his grocery business in Milwaukee and will be employed by the Thompson Abbot Construction Co. in Marshfield. His bride graduated from the Bonduel high school and since graduation has been employed by the Charles restaurant in Milwaukee. They will make their home in Marshfield.

Among those who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stayton, Nancy Stayton, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Olsen and Mrs. Rex Pickett of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fink of Chicago, and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Warner of Nekoosa.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
