Miss Carole Wirtala, Eau Claire, was the maid of honor.  Mrs. Doug Missling, Owen, Miss Nancy Stewart, Withee, and Miss Ginger Will, Eau Claire, were bridesmaids.  Their aqua blue floor length sheaths were made of lace and georgette over taffeta.  Each carried two long stemmed yellow roses secured with matching taffeta bows.

Melvin Niemi, Owen, served as best man; Dough Missling of Owen, Edgar Wirtala of la Crosse and Dave Friske, greenwood, were groomsmen; and Myron Wirtala and Duane Olson ushered.

The wedding reception, attended by 300 guests, was held in the church parlors and the wedding dance at Neillsville’s American Legion Hall.  After a honeymoon spent in Northern Wisconsin and Canada, the couple will live in Owen.
