Prom was a Gorgeous Event (Prom - 28 April 1928)
One of the most beautiful school events that have taken place in years was the Junior-Senior banquet and promenade held at the high school last Saturday evening. The event is one put on in honor of the graduating class and it is always the desire of the junior Class to make it just as nice as possible.
The Junior class under the direction of Leona Barton as president, spared no effort and went to an immense amount of work to make the Junior-Senior event this year one which would stand out in the memory of the Seniors, as one of the most delightful experiences of their school life; and in this the Juniors were more than successful.
The banquet was served at six-thirty by the under classmen cooking classes under the direction of Miss Stoiber, the domestic instructor. This was without a doubt one of the most bounteous affairs as has been served in years. One hundred twenty-five people par-took of the banquet and voted unanimously as to its excellence. A few short addresses by Prof. Wm. C. Hanson, C. A. Imislund and a couple students, brought the significance of the event to the minds of those present.
After the banquet the group gathered in the high school auditorium, which has been decorated fit for royalty, to dance to the music of Huffs Orchestra of Wisconsin Rapids. The auditorium had lost entirely its scholarly appearance and had been transformed under the guiding hands of the decorating committee, into a ballroom deluxe. The room was crowned with the fragrant boughs of the fir trees, in which were mingled dull colored lamps; then along the north wall and the library there was fenced off with lattice work and roses lounging room for the dancers. There were also the colored paper decorations on the walls and windows to give the added touch of beauty.
