Roohr, William  (25 DEC 1875- ? DEC 1948

 

William Roohr died at midnight last Wednesday at his home at Riplinger. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran church in Riplinger, the Rev. August Quandt officiating. Interment was in the Beaver cemetery.

 

Hymns sung at the service were "I Know How Soon My Days Are Ended."

 

Pallbearers were: Joe Pachal, Roy Pipkorn, Hugo Schuette, John Stowe, Earl Stowe and Henry Langfeldt. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Helen Oestreich, Mrs. Leo Bloom, Mrs. Richard Witte, La Vonne Newman. Joan Roohr and Agnes Raeck.

 

Mr. Roohr was born in Clark county on Dec. 25, 1875. He received his education in this county and was a farmer the past 40 years. He was married to Elizabeth Raeck in 1905.

 

Surviving, besides his wife, are five children, Mrs. Richard Witte, Mrs. Lawrence Newman, Mrs. Paul Heine and William Roohr Jr., all of Riplinger and Adam Roohr of Milwaukee. Two children, George and Edna preceded him in death. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters. One brother and a sister are dead.
