Ruth Ann Mickle, age 71, of Thorp, WI, formerly of Dousman, WI, passed away on Thursday July 22, 2010 at her home.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd, WI.  Fr. John Gilbert officiated and interment of Ruth’s cremains took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, in the Town of Edson, following the service.  Visitation was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd, on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Ruth Ann Sutter was born on July 7, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Legath) Sutter. She was raised and received her education in Milwaukee, graduating from Messmer High School in 1957.  After high school, Ruth worked as a private secretary to a vice president of the Koering Corporation, in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Ronald Mickle on September 22, 1962 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Milwaukee.  They lived in Milwaukee until moving to Dousman in 1967, where they resided until moving to Thorp in October 2008.  Ruth was a homemaker all of her married life.

She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends, raising chickens, and quilting, where she was active in two quilting guilds, the "Sew & Sew Country Quilters" in Stanley and "Bolts of Fun Quilters" in Thorp.  Ruth has won several awards for her quilting.  She was very generous with her quilts, giving away many to family members and donating others to various raffles and charities.

Ruth will be dearly missed by her husband, Ron, of Thorp; one daughter, Judy Mickle of Thorp; on son, Joe (Donna) Mickle of Jefferson; one sister, Jeanne (Curt) Pitel of Waukesha; sister-in-law, Jacki Sutter of Hartford; sister-in-law, Carole (Raymond) Yankus of New Berlin; brother-in-law, Ramon Mickle of Milwaukee and several nieces, nephews, cousins and quilting friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Sutter.
