Ewert, Shirley J. (Stasek) (February 25, 1935 - August 6, 2010)

 

Shirley J Ewert, 75, of Owen, peacefully passed away on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, in Owen, with her daughter by her side. 

 

Shirley was born Feb. 25, 1935, to Paul and Dorothy Stasek.

 

She graduated from Owen High School where she was first chair clarinet. She enjoyed roller-skating with her brother and sister. 

 

Shirley was joined in marriage to Milford Ewert on July 7, 1956, in Owen. They owned and operated their own dairy farm for 35 years.

 

Shirley was as member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Longwood. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed polka dancing. She devoted 25 years to farming and had a special love for her cow. She also shared a special friendship with her caregiver, Melinda Nelson. Most of all Shirley loved spending time with her family. 

 

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Brenda (Doug) Zimmer of Owen; four grandchildren, Brandi (Travis) Arndt, Withee, Joshua (Jill) Stumpner, Wausau, Ashley (Dan Adams) Zimmer, Eau Claire and Lindsey Zimmer, Owen, and four great-grandchildren, Erica, Kylie and Reina Arndt and Natalie Stumpner. Shirley is further survived by her brothers, Paul Stasek Jr. of Owen and Ronnie (Louis) Stasek of Bismark, Ariz.; her sister, Gaymond Laabs of Shawano; brothers-in-law, Melvin (Janet) Ewert, Janesville, and Norman (Judy) Ewert, Temecula, CA. 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milford, Twin boys, Dean and Gene Ewert; and brother-in-law, Myron Ewert. 

 

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday. Burial will take place in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Curtiss.

 

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
