Holtman, Terrence E. "Terry" #2 (March 11, 1943 - August 18, 2010)

 

Terrence E. Holtman, "Terry", 67, Colby, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.  


Terry was born on March 11, 1943 to Alice (Wilcott) and Elmer Holtman. He attended Stratford High School and upon graduation served his country in the National Guard from 1961 - 1963. Terry was joined in marriage to Mary R. Mancl on October 19, 1963 in Blenker.


Terry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, telling stories and sharing jokes. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby and a member of the American Legion Post #0358 for 32 years in Colby. Terry drove truck most of his life and retired in 2009.


He is lovingly survived by his wife, Mary of Colby; his children, Teri Lynn (Dennis) Schorer of Unity, Darin (Laura Schmidt) Holtman of Mosinee, Danette (Steve Dake) Holtman of Medford, Carrie (Robin) Geissler of Chippewa Falls, Lora (Al) Mercier of Marshfield, Lana (Marlen) Weisenberger of Mosinee, and Donald (Jessica Bockin) Holtman of Wausau; his grandchildren, Chad and Eric Schorer, Jesse Holtman, Dalayna Holtman, Brenna, Nathan, and Sadie Mercier, Tessa and Jack Weisenberger, Wyatt Moon, Charlie, and Adam Geissler, and Trevor and Tyler Dake.

 

Terry is further survived by his mother and step-father, Alice and Paul Williams of Thorp; step-mother, Lorraine Holtman of Stratford; brother, Randy (Violet) Holtman of Cadott; sisters, Darla (Brian) Leick of Stratford and Lois (Jon) Custer of Stratford; step-siblings, Sue Meyer of Marshfield, Mark (Rae Ann) Grabofski of Camp Douglas, and Brenda (Mark) Kilheffer of Green Bay; and mother-in-law, Lorraine Mancl of Marshfield.


Terry is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Holtman; sister, Carol Holtman; son, Dale Holtman; and father-in-law, Martin Mancl


His funeral service will be Saturday, August 21 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby at 11 a.m. Rev. Daniel Hackel will preside.


 Visitation will be on Friday, August 20 from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Visitation will also take place 10- 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Colby.


In lieu of flowers, donations will be dedicated to a memorial established by the family at a later date.
