Died - Friday, Sept. 12, 1913, Daniel Kennedy, aged 68 years, 10 months and 23 days.

Daniel Kennedy was born in Presque Isle, Maine, on Oct. 20, 1844, to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Kennedy.  He spent the earlier part of his life at his birthplace, coming to Clark County at the age of 22 years.  He came to Clark County and entered the employ of the Coleman Lumber Co., assuming the position of superintendent of that company’s logging operation in Clark County.  On June 18, 1876, Mr. Kennedy was united in marriage to Miss Lillian Marshall and to them two daughters were born, Elizabeth and Gertrude.

Mr. Kennedy was a many in whom were combined many sterling qualities.  He was ever conscientious in the discharge of his duties and faithful in their performance.  He was a man of strong will power and sturdy temperament and to these two qualities may be attributed much of the success which attended his work throughout life.  His position with the Coleman Co. was one of trust, for be became the agency through which large sums of money passed both in the conduct of the lumber camps and the sale of lands.  That he held this position from the time he entered the employ of Coleman Co., at the age of 22 years, until the time of his death, to the complete satisfaction of the company, is the best indication of the honesty and uprightness of the deceased.  In the matter of his friendships, Mr. Kennedy was unusual for his likes and dislikes and to his friends he was sincere in his feelings and true to his word.  He was a member of the various branches of the Masonic fraternity of this city and was a highly esteemed brother.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home of the deceased and was conducted by the Masonic fraternity.  Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.  The pall bearers were C.W. Dewey, John Bryden, S.M.Marsh, W.J. Marsh, S.F. Hewett and Carl Stang.  Deceased is survived by his wife and daughters, Miss Elizabeth and Mrs. E.L.
