Thorp Area (1901)

H. Holzhausen has purchased an acre of land of A. A. Barr upon which he will build a new residence. - H. H. Heath of Neillsville was in town on Monday and Tuesday talking telephone. - B. F. Hopkins of New London arrived here on Monday and has decided to locate a saw mill at some point in this vicinity. - The W. C. depot was again visited by burglars on Sunday night last and the cash drawer rifled of about $13 in change. The job is supposed to have been done by local talent. - Nearly two hundred incandescent lights have been put into buildings along Front Street and the work in that line is far from being completed. The residence portion, it is expected will, use the greater number of lights. -- Courier
