Hoffman, William J. (6 May 1909 - 5 Mar. 1959)

 

William J. Hoffman 89, former Abbotsford resident, died at his home at Farmington, Minn., late Thursday afternoon of a heart attack. The body was brought to the Rembs Funeral Home at Marshfield, where the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. N. Schuh conducted funeral services Saturday morning at 10:00 o’clock. Burial was made in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

 

Mr. Hoffman was born at Hilbert, May 6, 1909. He was a cheesemaker by trade and operated plants at Thorp and Ringle. For 21 years, he managed the Libby McNeil and Libby plant at Rosendale and late was field representative for their condensery at Waupun. He served as manager of the Marathon-Clark Cooperative Dairy Association of Abbotsford from 1951 to 1960 after which he purchased the Lyrle Theatre at Farmington, Minn., which he operated until his death.

 

He is survived by his widow, Evelyn, two daughters, Miss Joan Hoffmann and Mrs. Penny Heinz, both of Madison; three sons, James, of Mobile, Ala., William Jr., of Elkhorn, and Mickie, of Los Angeles. He leaves three grand children, one sister and four brothers.
