Eddy, Cheryl (4 AUG 1947 - 26 SEP 2010)

 

NEILLSVILLE -- Cheryl Eddy, 63, of Neillsville died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at her home.

 

Cheryl Ann Opelt was born Aug. 4, 1947, in Neillsville the daughter of Rudolph Carl and Marcella Jean (Lipkie) Opelt. She was united in marriage to Harold "Hap" Eddy on June 4, 1966, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, then they moved to Genoa, Ill. Later, they moved back to Neillsville and Cheryl became a stay-at-home mom and started to work occasionally as a cook for Mark and Merrill Brunette at the Neillsville Country Club. In 1988, she took a job at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville and worked in the purchasing department.

 

She is survived by her husband, Harold "Hap"; four children, Melissa (Terry) Ruder of Plainfield, Ill., James (Pamela) Eddy of La Crosse, Joseph (Melissa) Eddy of Marshfield and Jason Eddy of Sayre, Okla.; seven grandchildren; six siblings, Richard Opelt of Neillsville, Bruce (Barb) Opelt of Neillsville, Randy (Michelle) Opelt of Eau Claire, David Opelt of Neillsville, Rosemary Opelt of Neillsville and Susan Hornback of Poynette.

 

Funeral services for Cheryl will be at noon Saturday at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery in town of Hewett. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ.
