Carleton, Freemont "Free" (? - 8 June 1959)

Freemont (Free) Carleton, 65, Eau Claire, formerly of Neillsville, died Monday at Our Lady of Good Hope Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiating.  Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.

Mr. Carleton is survived by his wife, Florence, of Brunswick.  Mrs. Alex Gall, Mrs. Robert Hopfer, Mrs. Viola Shaw and Charles Barr of Neillsville are among the several nieces and Nephews who survive.

For many years Mr. Carleton conducted an electrical contracting business, centering around Neillsville.  He sold the business a few months ago, when failing health forced him to give up his activities.

A former member of the National Guard unit here, he joined that unit in 1914, and at one time held the rank of lieutenant.  He was a veteran of World War I.
