Hopfensperger, Charles W. (29 OCT 1954 - 19 OCT 2010)

 

Charles W. Hopfensperger, 55, of Bloomer, formerly of Spencer, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Eau Claire on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Spencer. Burial will follow in West Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

 

Charles Wayne Hopfensperger was born Oct. 29, 1954, in Spencer, the son of Wilmer and Viola (Doughty) Hopfensperger. After high school, Chuck moved to Sheboygan and worked at Kohler Co. for a few years, before moving to Flagstaff, Ariz., where he worked for a company delivering and setting up mobile homes.

 

He was united in marriage to Esther Todd on Aug. 1, 1981, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Spencer. He started his own business, Chuck's Heating and Cooling in Marshfield, which he operated until 1998. In 2000, they moved to Bloomer, and Chuck worked as a design engineer for Sid Harvey, the Goodin Co., the Ferguson Co. and for FedEx.

 

He is survived by his wife, Esther, of Bloomer; two children, Eric Hopfensperger and Amber Hopfensperger, both of Bloomer; one grandson; nine sisters, Muriel (Arnold) Oelrich of Spencer, Doris (Ron) Toltzman of Henderson, Nev., Carol (Frank) Luepke of Sheldon, Iowa, Evelyn (Jess) Derrickson of Hammond, La., Diane (Dale) Mossberger of Henderson, Nev., Lynette (Oscar) Hildbrandt of Spencer, Sharon (Sylvester) Kurzinski of Junction City, Dawn (Tom) Oberman of Broadhead and Janice Krasselt of Spencer; and one brother, James (Aud) Hopfensperger of Unity.
