Maffie, Eugenia (24 JUN 1956)

 

A white and blue wedding took place at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Chicago, Ill., on June 24th, 1956 at 2 p.m., when Rev. Joseph F. Ognibene joined in a double ring ceremony, Miss Eugenia Maffie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Silvis Maffie of Chicago, and Mr. John Pacholski, son of Mrs. Stella Pacholski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

The bride was escorted by her father to the altar which was beautifully decorated.

 

While the bride place a bouquet of white gladiolas on the altar of the Blessed Virgin, the choir sang, "On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother."

 

Imported embroidered organdy with a long train fashioned the bride’s gown.  Her fingertip veil was held by a pearl and rhinestone crown.

 

She carried three white orchids with a beautiful pearl rosary, a gift of the groom.

 

Eugenia chose as he maid of honor, a friend, Miss Ann Anillo.

 

Her bridesmaids were her sister, Miss Mamie Maffie, and her cousin, Miss Diana Ciolino All wore identical ballerina length gowns of powder blue chiffon with satin cumber bands with rhinestone headpieces.  All carried white carnation bouquets.

 

Attending the groom was his brother-in-law, Frank Norlock, and his nephew, William Matusek, as usher.  All wore tuxedos with carnation boutonnieres.

 

The bride’s mother chose a beige lace tunic for her daughter’s wedding and the groom’s mother wore an ice blue and gray print dress, both wore orchid corsages.

 

After the ceremony, a reception was held at Wozniak’s Casino for 200 guests.

 

The bride and groom left for their honeymoon to Colorado.  After their return trip they will make their home in Chicago where the groom is employed at Acme Steel Co., and the bride will assume teaching school in September.

 

Out of town guests attending the wedding were, Mrs. Stella Pacholski, Mrs. Joseph Straszkowski and children, all of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Swim and daughters of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Konieczny and daughter of Conrath; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ratzburd, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Telford and Judy of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Resnick and son, Mrs. Steve Kwiatkowski and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wisz and Danny, and Mr. E. Banicki, all of Posen, Ill.
