Granton, Wisconsin (3 September 1959)

 

Mrs. Donald Taylor and two boys left Monday for their home in South Salem, N. Y., after spending a month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steinke, and assisting in the home during her mother’s hospitalization and convalescence.  Her parents took her to Merrillan, where she boarded a train for Chicago.  From there she returned home by jet plane.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schuelke and children are leaving Friday for their home in Two Harbors, Minn., after spending two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuelke and her mother Mrs. Lawrence Hrach, in Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Allen Stanley entertained their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce of Neillsville, Friday evening.  The occasion was the birthdays of Mrs. Roy Stanley and Bruce Stanley.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Garbisch were among those who attended the golden wedding and family gathering of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuelke, and whose names were omitted in last week’s issue.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Davis and family of Janesville, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bergemann Sunday.  Mr. and Mrs. Bergemann and their guests visited the Harlan Bergemann family in Greenwood and the Bergemann family in Neillsville.

 

Sunday visitors at the Lloyd Spry home were Mr. and Mrs. Al Hackbarth and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prochnow of Wautoma.

 

Mrs. Emma Chubb accompanied her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Schlafke of Marshfield, to Milwaukee for a visit with their son and brother, Robert Helm and his family. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Eckes and four daughters of Appleton, enroute home from Rochester, Minn., visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steinke.  They had visited her mother, Mrs. Leo Steinke, who recently underwent knee surgery in St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

 

Paul Lautenbach is receiving medical care in Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke and her mother, Mrs. Mabel Austin, spent the weekend in Appleton with the E. H. Knickel family.  They were accompanied by Mrs. Hugh Berg, who was a weekend guest at the Howard Finnigan home in Oshkosh.

 

Mrs. Elton Schmidtke and three children visited with her brother, Helmuth Bohn, and his family In Chicago.  Miss Carole Cohel, daughter of Mrs. Schmidtke, who has been attending an electronics and telegraph school in Omaha, Nebr., left Tuesday for Los Angeles, Calif., where she has been assigned to a position.  Carole is a 1959 graduate of Granton High School.
