Davel, Juliann Florence (Marriage - 12 September 1959)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal was the scene of the wedding of Miss Juliann Florence Davel and Gerald Frank Zettler at 10 a.m. Saturday. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Davel, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Zettler are the parents of the groom.

The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Norbert King.  The church choir sang the "Ave Maria" and "The Lord’s Prayer," with Sister M. Vera Marie as organist.

The bride’s gown was of white Peau de Soie silk, floor length, with chapel train.  Her finger tip veil of sheer imported illusion was attached to a crown style headpiece.  Her flowers were a cascade bouquet of pink roses, stephanotis and ivy.

Her attendants were Miss Judy Zettler, Loyal, sister of the groom, as maid-of-honor; and Mrs. Theodore Zettler, Loyal, sister-in-law of the groom, Mrs. Ronald Davel and Mrs. James Davel, as bridesmaids.

The flower girl was her niece, Victoria Davel of Menasha.  Her dress was white embroidered nylon.  Her flowers were a miniature of the bride’s bouquet.

The bridal attendants wore gowns of turquoise satin crystalette with matching head pieces. They carried cascade bouquets of white feathered ‘mums, turquoise tinted carnations, and pink sweetheart roses.

The groom’s attendants were his uncle, Theodore Reynolds, Wausau, as bestman; his brother, Theodore Zettler, Loyal, and the bride’s brothers, Ronald and James Davel of Menasha.  Richard Bergemann, cousin of the bride, and Frederick Reynolds, another uncle of the groom, ushered.

Both dinner and supper were served in the church hall, and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Zettler are graduates of Loyal High School.  She has been employed in Marshfield, and he is employed in Wausau.

Out of town guests were from Greenwood, Neillsville, Stanley, Wausau, Dorchester, Berlin, Spencer, Wisconsin Rapids, Milwaukee, Menasha, Algoma, Abbotsford, Medford, Athens, Oshkosh, Pulaski, Marshfield, Madison, Minneapolis and Chicago.
