Fremont Township (29 October 1959)

 

The Veefkind Homemakers club met Thursday evening in the home of Mrs. Alvin Kissinger.  Mrs. Lowell Schultz, led the group in the singing of several songs.  Mrs. Robert Brett presented the project on, selection and care of hard surface floors.  Mrs. Sylvester Fellenz gave a report on the conservation tour of the Homemakers club, taken in Greenwood area October 21.  Mrs. Ihlefeldt* and Mrs. Luchterhand also went on the tour.  The health topic, "Fad Foods," was given by Mrs. Ihlefeldt.  Mrs. Henry Kurz received the door prize.  Mrs. Dale Krasselt was a guest.  The club will meet the evening of November 19 in the Ihlefeldt home. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Donner of Long Beach, Calif., are guests in the Roy Lindow and the Alvord Selk homes in Chili.  All were dinner guests in the Edwin Fait home in Wisconsin Rapids Sunday.  The Donners will visit in Oshkosh, Chicago, and Clear Lake, Ind., before returning to California.

 

Fremont Grange met in the Grange hall Friday evening.  Routine business was taken care of by the Master, Norman Peterson. The Grange will have its annual Thanksgiving dinner at the hall the Sunday following Thanksgiving day.  The Meissner and Prust families will serve on the lunch committee at the next meeting.

 

Mrs. Erwin Farnsworth and Darwyn spent the weekend with Mrs. Farnsworth’s mother, Mrs. Frances Stone, at Randolph.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Prust, Norman and Esther Peterson and Mrs. Manford Cain attended a party of the Clark Grange Saturday evening.

 

Mrs. Alfred Riedel entertained the Lynn Birthday club at her home Wednesday afternoon. There were 16 members and two visitors present.  Visitors were Mrs. Raymond Nowak and Mrs. Arnold Garbisch of Granton.  The afternoon was spent playing games.  Prizes were awarded.  A lunch was served by the hostess.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clark Brooks entertained at a "500" Card party Sunday evening.  Prizes were won by Mrs. Arthur Short and Arthur Riedel, high; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm second.  A lunch was served.

 

The Rev. and Mrs. L. E. Schreiber and family were Saturday evening supper guests at the Mrs. Emma Schune Home.

 

Mrs. Emma Schune and daughters, Lydia and Marcella, were Sunday dinner and supper guests at the Clarence Sternitzky home.

 

Mrs. Adrian Vernig visited her daughter in Medford Sunday.
