Braatz, Yvonne Helen (Marriage - 7 November 1959)


Zion American Lutheran Church, Town of Grant, was filled November 7, for the marriage of Yvonne Helen Braatz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Braatz, town of Grant, to Lamar Ardell Hardwick, son of Mrs. James (Elgie) Hardwick of Humbird.  The Rev. Marvin Beninga officiated.


Victor Braatz, father of the bride, gave his daughter in marriage at a double-ring ceremony.  Mrs. Donald Zerbel of Humbird served as matron of honor.  Mrs. Jerome Johnson of Eau Claire, a sister of the groom, and Miss Linda Braatz, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids.


Donald Zerbel was bestman; Bill Braatz of Rice Lake and Kenny Harris of Altoona, groomsmen.  Miss Carol Jean Lucht of Wausau, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl; Master Jimmy Johnson, a nephew of the groom of Humbird, was ringbearer.  Tom Johnson of Humbird and Fred Tyler of Humbird ushered.


Approximately 150 relatives and friends attended a reception and dinner in the church parlors, served by the Ladies Aid of Zion American Lutheran Church.  The wedding cake as made by Mrs. Edgar Ott of Chili.  Many gifts were received by the newlyweds. 


The groom was raised in Humbird, attended the Humbird Grade School and was graduated from Lincoln High School at Alma Center.  He attended Eau Claire Vocational School, where he studied drafting and architectural drawing.  He also served two years with state engineers at Eau Claire.  He is presently employed at American Motors in Kenosha.


The bride was raised in the Town of Grant, and was graduated from Granton High School in 1957. She was employed for two years in Wausau and is now employed in Kenosha.


The newlyweds are now at home at 6712 23rd Avenue in Kenosha.
