Henke, Louis #2 (13 SEP 1879 - 11 NOV 1956)

 

At St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Wednesday morning, Nov. 14th at 9:30 a funeral Mass and services were conducted by Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide for Louis Henke who passed away on Nov. 11, 1956 at the age of 77 years and 2 months.

 

Louis Henke was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Henke and was born at St. Ann, Wis. on Sept. 13th, 1879.  He was united in marriage to Louis Baldeschwiler at St. Bernard’s Church at Thorp on Oct. 23, 1906.  He operated a farm southwest of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) for a number of years, moving to the city of Thorp in 1944.  He suffered a stroke eight years ago, which left him partially paralyzed, and death now was caused by another stroke.

 

He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Weix, Curtiss, Wis., Mrs. John (Agnes) Austin, West Covina, Calif., Mrs. John (Veronica) Freisinger, La Crosse, Wis., and four grandchildren, Mrs. Irvine Bach (Marlene Weix) of Dorchester, Ronald Weix, West Covina, Calif. And Peter and Joel Freisinger of La Crosse; two brothers, Peter Henke of Stanley, Emil Henke, Thorp, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Martha) Higholt, Stanley, Wis., and Mrs. George (Tillie) Schneider, Stanley, Wis.

 

One daughter, Mrs. Harold (Martha) Sine, passed away 16 years ago, and other relatives who also preceded him in death were his two brothers, Joseph and Dr. Wm. Henke, and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Anna) Driessen.

 

He was laid to rest in St. Bernard’s Cemetery; Pallbearers were Wm. Micke, Oscar Boie, George Haas, Alex Soeller, Joseph Benzschawel and Ed Schmidt.

Meyer, Kimberly, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Zimmerman, Boyd, Albert Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Al symbol, Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gordeaux, Holcombe, Mr. and Mrs., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baldeschwiler, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Baldeschwiler, Jim Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Oberle of Edson, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Henke, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Graham of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. John Wozniak, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Sorenson of Stanley, Peter Henke, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Higholt, Mr. and Mrs. George Schneider of Stanley.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary three weeks ago.
