Milligan, Edna E. (19 September 1910 - 31 October 2010)

 

Edna E. Milligan, age 100, of Stanley, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010, in Stanley, WI.  Edna was born September 19, 1910, in Stanley, WI, the daughter of the late Charles & Hulda (Thorson) Oas.  She grew up in the Stanley area and began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse for a few years, then went on to school herself, graduating from the University of Eau Claire.  She was united in marriage to Eugene Milligan on April 26, 1935, in Decorah, Iowa, moving back to Stanley to raise their family with Edna teaching school for 35 years for the Thorp School District.  Edna was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed being with and was proud of all her grandchildren.

 

She is survived by her children: Kirk (Deanne) Milligan of Franklin, WI, and Sandra Johnson of Middleton, WI; grandchildren: Lisa, Julie, Kirk, Bradley, Jeffrey & Mark; and great-grandchildren: Alexa, Chase, Dylan, Astrid, Seth, Brandon, Blake, Shannon, Jamie, Kyle, Colin & Devin.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 1987, and one brother, Elmer Oas.

 

Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, WI with Pastor Sarah Semmler-Smith officiating.   Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley, WI. Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

 

 Plombon Funeral Service, Stanley, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
