Wallis-Hinker Legion Post (Auxiliary - 1960)

Members brought cookies to be sent to the Veterans Hospital at Tomah, to the meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary recently in the Legion clubrooms.  The cookies will be served to the hospitalized veterans at a social party.

It was decided the auxiliary will help make plans and help serve a ham dinner, planned for St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, which the Wallis-Hinker Legion Post will sponsor.  Mrs. John D. Speich, president; appointed the following committee to make the plans: Mrs. Fred Behrens, Mrs. Frances Hinker, Mrs. Ida Carl, Mrs. Leona Syth, Mrs. Calvin Franz, and Mrs. John Vesel.

It was voted to purchase five dollars of rehabilitation stamps, the proceeds to be used in rehabilitation work.

Mrs. Fred Behrens was appointed to act on the sunshine committee, during the absence of Mrs. O. J. Amundson.

After the meeting games were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Myron Kenyon, Mrs. Frank Brey, Mrs. Lawrence Kitzhaber, and Mrs. John Vesel.  A lunch was served by Mrs. Minnie Cox, Mrs. Lydia Dill, Mrs. Mathilda Fahey and Mrs. Calvin Franz.  The next meeting will be held March 21 with Mrs. Harry Gordee, Mrs. Erwin Grap, Mrs. Charles Hare and Mrs. Lester Helwig as hostesses.
