Nauertz, Mary Ann (Marriage - 27 February 1960)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church by Miss Mary Ann Nauertz, daughter of Mrs. Frank Nauertz of Neillsville, and Robert E. Murphy, son of Mrs. Marion Murphy of La Crosse. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann performed the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with bouquets of pompons, ‘mums and pink gladioli.

The bride, was attired in a floor-length dress of French imported Chantilly lace and tulle over slipper satin, and richly embroidered with iridescent sequins and pearls. The full bouffant skirt was fashioned with ruffles of tulle and lace at the sides, and lace panels in front and back extending into a chapel train. The fitted bodice was styled with a Sabrina neckline and long tapered sleeves.  Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was attached to a pearl and crystal crown.

Her bridal bouquet consisted of a large pearl heart with two large white orchids and sprays of white hyacinths and ivy detailing one side.  Pearl loops hung from the bouquet.

She was attended by her sister, Miss Carol Nauertz, as maid-of-honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lola Nauertz, a sister-in-law, and Mrs. Beverly Horswill, a friend.  They were attired in dresses of white silk over pale green taffeta, with the overskirts embroidered in small pink and dark green leaves.  Ruffled white hats detailed with dark green ribbon, and dark green slippers and elbow-length mitts completed their outfits.  Their bouquets were pale green cymbidium orchids, with pink hyacinths entwined with ivy and net streamers.

The groom was attended by Lloyd Fox as best man, and groomsmen were James Nauertz, and Donald Horswill, Robert DeMert and John Mazola, Jr., were ushers.

The children’s choir of St. Mary’s Church furnished nuptial music.

Following the ceremony a dinner for 40 guests was served at Club 10, and a reception was held in the afternoon at the Legion Hall.

For the wedding of her daughter, Mrs. Nauertz wore a beige dress with aqua and beige accessories.  The groom’s mother was attired in a black dress and accessories.  Each wore a corsage of pink roses.

On their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will reside in a trailer home on Rt. 3, Neillsville.

Those from away here for the wedding were; Mrs. Marion Murphy and Miss Marilyn Brown, La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. George Nauertz, Altoona; Mrs. Terry Ziegler, Eau Claire; Mrs. Catherine Nauertz, Marshfield; Mrs. Hannah Finnigan, Iowa; Steve Jaje, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson, Merrillan, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bennett, Warrens; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Larson, Ettrick; and Mr. and Mrs. John Gregorich, River Falls.
