Humbird, Wisconsin (3 March 1960)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hal Russell and family of Sparta called Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Newton.

 

Mrs. Park Sample entertained a party of ladies in her home Tuesday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Scheibe spent from Thursday until Saturday with her sister, Mrs. Howard Lawrence, in Altoona.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Laing returned last Sunday from their trip to California.  While they were away little Craig stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop.

 

Johnnie Gust has been enjoying a furlough with the home folks, and left Sunday for Norfolk, VA., for his next assignment in the navy.

 

Mrs. Earl Zimmerman, accompanied by Mrs. Huldah Winscher and Mrs. John Bryner, drove to La Crosse Friday.  Mrs. Winscher and Mrs. Bryner visited at the Alex Lubinski home.  Mrs. Zimmerman and her sister, Mrs. Mabel Rose of La Crosse, drove to Onalaska to call on their niece, Mrs. Lewis Seelow, and then on to Stoddard to see the new home into which Mr. and Mrs. Seelow are moving.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sheffer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Marson and family, all of La Crosse, were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sheffer.  Mr. and Mrs. Sheffer and guests spent the afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. John Sheffer.

 

Carl and Hattie Stuve of the Tindahl community have both been quite sick and still are not very good.

 

Sherry, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Shirley, is quiet sick with congestion of the lungs and is under a doctor’s care.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Danny Wallace were visitors in Black River Falls Saturday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zimmerman were in Neillsville Saturday night and called on Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Frantz and Melvin Scholtz.

 

Mrs. Melvin Markham went to Eau Claire Monday, where she was to enter the Sacred Heart Hospital and undergo surgery Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Wold and family of Black River Falls were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe.

 

Mrs. Helen Giloy is a patient in the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, where she is having a complete checkup.
