Hendricks, Ann Marie (15 August 1920 - 14 November 2010)

 

Ann M. Hendricks, age 90, of Thorp, died at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen, on Sunday, November 14, 2010.  There will be no services held.  Interment of cremains will take place in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery, in Thorp, at a later date.

 

Ann Marie Abramczuk was born on August 15, 1920, in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Cieciora) Abramczuk.  She was raised on the family farm in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, and received her elementary education at Reseburg Grade School, and later graduated from Thorp High School.  Ann was united in marriage to Anton" Tony" Hendricks on June 17, 1939, in Iowa. They farmed in the Township of Mead, rural Thorp.  She later worked at the Farmer’s Store, in Thorp, as the main cashier and bookkeeper.  In the fall of 1959, she became employed as a secretary at Thorp High School, and worked there until her retirement.

 

She had many interests, especially her flower gardens, reading, traveling with Tony, and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

 

She is survived by six children: Brian (Joan) Hendricks of Owen, Peggy (Ron) Benzschawel of West Dundee, IL, Roger Hendricks of Greenwood, Sandra (Cliff) Schofield of Greenwood, Bonnie (Ray) Hollinger of York, PA, and Mark Hendricks of Rockford, IL; eight  grandchildren: Debra Schofield (Bruce Kirn) of Greenwood, Tammy (Mike) Mireles of Haynesville, IL, Scott Schofield of Marengo, IL, Kimberly (Patrick) Easterday of La Grange Park, IL, Kristine (David) Engel of Chicago, IL, Steven Benzschawel of Aurora, IL, Rebecca Hollinger of York, PA, and Jason Hendricks of Stevens Point, WI; four great-grandchildren: Trista Sepp of Marshfield, Max Mireles of Haynesville, IL, Ryan Easterday and Kaitlyn Easterday of LaGrange Park, IL; one great-great-grandson, Kaden Lewis of Marshfield; one sister-in-law, Adella Abramczuk of Lyons, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tony, on October 26, 2010; one daughter, Karen Hendricks, six brothers: Alois "Brownie", August, Adam, Tony, Lawrence and Alexander Abramczuk; four sisters: Harriet Nelson, Viola Koher, Paula Buczynski and Louise Kaleta.
