Langiewicz, Eve (4 MAR 1957)

A very pretty event took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Stanley at 9:30 o’clock on the morning of March 4th, 1957, when Rev. Geissler joined in holy matrimony in a double ring ceremony, Howard Rixford, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rixford of Stanley, and Miss Eve Langiewicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Langiewicz of the Town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.).

The couple was attended by Wm. Peterson of Stanley, the bride’s brother-in-law, and Audrey Peterson, Stanley, sister of the bride.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of net over satin, ankle length full skirt, long tapered sleeves and Peter Pan collar.  She carried a wedding bouquet of white roses and white mums.

Serving as usher was Alex Langiewicz Jr. of Christie, the bride’s brother.

The church was decorated for the wedding with asters, mums and gladioli.

The reception and dinner was held at Club 73 with the table decorated with yellow roses and a four-tiered wedding cake made by Mrs. Adolph Peterson.  A wedding dance was given at the American Legion Hall in Thorp in the evening with music by the Krazy Derbys.

The happy couple spent their honeymoon in Chicago and are residing in Eau Claire where the groom is employed with the Coca Cola Company.
