Dux, Albert F. (12 August 1897 - 28 March 1960)

Funeral services for Albert F. Dux, 62, who died Monday of a heart attack at his farm home on Route 2, Neillsville, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) from St. John�s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman Lindloff will be in charge, and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Dux, who had not been previously ill, suffered the attack, while working in the barn.  When his son, who was working nearby, heard a noise, he investigated and found his father on the floor.  Mr. Dux was a native of Clark County, and spent all his life on the home farm except for a year during which he was in the west.

He was born August 12, 1897, in Neillsville, to William and Bertha (Nemitz) Dux, and received his formal education in the area schools.

On September 12, 1923, he was married to Bertha Nemitz in Glendive, Mont., and the couple lived there for a year before returning to Clark County.

Mr. Dux had served as treasurer of the Hillside School for several years, was on the council of St. John�s Evangelical Lutheran Church here for several years, and was serving as an elder at the time of his death.

Survivors are the following children: Everett, Melvin, Mrs. Clarence (Marie) Meier, Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Meyer, Jr., all of Neillsville; and Norman of Brillion.  Also surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Herman Hoffman of San Fernando, Calif.; and four brothers, Frank of Loyal, Ben and Herman of Neillsville, and Robert of Lancaster, Calif.; and by 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha; and two daughters; Mrs. Richard (Ida) Hagedorn and Mrs. George (Alma) Dahl. 

The body will lie in state at the church for an hour before the services.  Funeral arrangements are being made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon from St. John�s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Albert F. Dux 62, of Neillsville, who died of a heart attack. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Robert Nemitz, Louis Dux, Carl Hoffmann, Herbert Nemitz, Harold Dahl, and Erwin Dux.

Two hymns, "Take Thou My Hand and Lead Me" and "Come to Calvary�s Mountain," were sung by the upper grades of St. John�s Lutheran School, accompanied by Victor Lehman.
