Beilfuss, Helen Beatrice (16 June 1914 - 4 May 1960)

 

Funeral services were to be held from Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Bruce F. (Helen) Beilfuss, wife of the circuit judge, who died at her home on Oak Street Sunday.

 

The Rev. R. P. Huus (Huss) of Black River Falls was to be in charge of the service, and burial was to be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Many dignitaries of the state, whom judge and Mrs. Beilfuss numbered among their friends, were expected to attend; and the Clark County Bar Association and Order of Eastern Star, of which Mrs. Beilfuss was a member, also were expected.

 

Pallbearers were to be: Donald Berg, of Black River Falls, Postmaster Mike Krultz, Jr., H. G. Haight, Robert W. Schiller, Judge Lowell D. Schoengarth and E. H. Snyder, all of Neillsville.  Arrangements were being made by the Bergemann Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Beilfuss had been ill for several months.  Her body was found in a work shop apart from the family home, with a bullet wound in her head.

 

She was born Helen Beatrice Hendrickson, daughter of Henry and Anna Hendrickson, on June 16, 1914, in Springfield.  She attended schools in Black River Falls, and was graduated from the school of nursing at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  Before her marriage in Madison on May 30, 1941, she worked in University Hospital there, and in Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee.

 

She also followed her profession in Hollywood, Calif., and at Fort Pierce, Fla., during the time her husband was in the navy.  She had lived in Neillsville since 1946.

 

Mrs. Beilfuss was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, of Carmi Chapter, No. 60, Order of Eastern Star, and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary here.

 

In addition to Judge Beilfuss, she is survived by a son, Mark; and by the following brothers and sisters: Dr. W. O. Hendrickson and Dr. A. O. Hendrickson, both of Wausau; Gaylord Hendrickson of Burbank, Calif.; Francis Hendrickson of Racine; Mrs. Clarence (Lydia) Ragstad and Mrs. F. M. (Florence) Beranek of La Crosse; and Mrs. Clifford (Edna) Steinrod of St. Charles, Mich.

 

Also surviving are her step-mother, Mrs. George Dettinger of Black River Falls; two step brothers, Milton Hauge of Black River Falls, and Axel Hauge who is with the armed forces in Germany; and a step-sister, Mrs. Dale (Lillian) Kirkpatrick of Eugene, Ore.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Bruce F. Beilfuss May 4, from the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with the Rev. Raymond P. Huss of Black River Falls officiating.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Donald Berg, Hugh A. Haight, Mike Krultz, Jr., Robert Schiller, Lowell D. Schoengarth, and Ernest Snyder.  Those in charge of flowers were: Mrs. Horace Frank, Mrs. Hugh Haight, Mrs. Robert Schiller and Mrs. August Selk.

 

Two hymns, "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "The Lord’s Prayer," were sung by Wilfred B. Galstad, accompanied by Mrs. I. J. Tanner.

 

Members of the Order of the Eastern Star and officers and employees of Clark County attended the services in a group.
