Juris, Verena E. (Marriage - 18 June 1960)

 

Verena E. Juris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Knoll of Granton, became the bride of Howard Jennings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Jennings of Chili, in a double ring ceremony performed in Spencer Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Warren Henderson, pastor of the Veefkind Community Church.

 

The bride, who was graduated from Granton High School in May, wore a white satin dress for her wedding and carried white ‘mums on a white Bible.

 

She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Joseph Kirk of Milwaukee, as matron of honor. Arthur Jennings of West Allis, a brother of the groom, was bestman. Roy Jennings sang, "Together Life’s Pathway We Tread."

 

A dinner and reception were held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the York Town Hall.  About 150 people were served.

 

The newlyweds visited the northern part of the state on a wedding trip, and have been at home on the Groom’s farm since, June 21st.  The groom also was graduated from Granton High School in 1959.

 

Out of town relatives and friends attended the ceremony included: Cpl. George Jennings of Beaufort, S.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davison of Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Jennings, of Wautoma; Miss Marion Kjell, Mrs. Arthur Jennings, Sr., Miss Edna Jennings, Mrs. Ellsworth Olson and Joy and Lloyd, and Mrs. Richard Veltus, all of Racine; Arthur Jennings of West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kirk and children, and Miss jean Reitzow, all of Milwaukee.
