Henke, Marian #2 (13 JUL 1957)


Marian Henke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Henke of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Jerome J. Pabich were married on Saturday, July 13, 1957.  The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pabich of Rural Route Thorp.


The Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide officiated at the 9:00 a.m. double ring ceremony at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the Parish Senior Choir furnished the music with Mrs. Ed Wichlacz as organist.


The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown fashioned of embroidered nylon tulle over taffeta with filled bodice and short puff sleeves.  A brand of lace medallions encircled the scoop neckline.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and stephanotis and wore a pearl necklace and earrings, a gift of the groom.


Catherine Conway, as maid of honor, Jo Hmielak, Mary Ann Wyczawski and Louis Salvack as bridesmaids, wore identical gowns of waltz length nylon in pastel colors and carried a gardenia and stephanotis bouquet.


The junior bride and groom were Jeanne Graham, niece of the bride, in a white floor length nylon gown carrying a pink basket of flowers, and David Henke, a nephew of the bride.


Alex Pabich of Owen, Wis., served as best man, and the other attendants were Eddie Pabich of Owen and Danny Smigaj of Chicago, Ill.


Serving as ushers were Lawrence Henke, brother of the bride, of Owen, Wis., and Norbert Pabich of Owen, Wis., brother of the groom.


The bride’s mother attended her daughter’s wedding in a dusty rose mesh dress, with a pink rose corsage, and the groom’s mother wore a mint green Dacron with a corsage of yellow roses.


A reception given by the bride’s parents, was held at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall where a dinner was served to 100 guests, a supper for 200 guests and the dance in the evening was also held there.


The bride’s traveling costume was a shrimp colored linen sheath dress with white accessories.  After a wedding trip through part of Wisconsin and Michigan they will make their home at Thorp.


The bride and the groom are both graduates of the Thorp High School.
