Word was received that Carl Wilbur had died June 23 at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis, where he had been a patient for about a week.

He was born near Humbird in 1891 and was 68 years of age.  He was a farmer and had farmed in this locality for most of his life.  Mr. Wilbur was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are two sisters: Mrs. Henry Harris, Altoona and Mrs. T. W. Merrill of Minneapolis; and a brother, Layton, of Minneapolis.

Funeral services were conducted June 26, by the Rev. Richard Schreiber of Alma Center from the Jenson Funeral Home at Hixton.  Burial was in the family lot in Houghtonburg cemetery.  Pallbearers were veterans of World War I from this area.  Color guards were from World War II.  Lunch was served for the relatives and friends by the ladies of the local American Legion Auxiliary in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stuve and Peter Fradenburg, old neighbors of the Wilbur family.
