Price, Verena (07 JULY 1949)
Miss Verena Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Price of Unity, was married to Warren Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomas of Birchwood, on Thursday afternoon, July 7, at the home of the former’s parents. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Lee H. Holmes of Loyal.
The bride was gowned in a white embroidered organdy gown, with a net yoke. Her fingertip veil of illusion fell from a seed pearl tiara, and she carried a colonial bouquet.
The bridal aides were Miss Grace Price, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Mrs. Clarence Markee of Owen, as bridesmaid. White organdy over green taffeta was worn by the maid of honor, and the bridesmaid was attired in white organdy over yellow taffeta. Both carried colonial bouquets.
Attending the groom were Robert Thomas, his brother, and Paul Partridge, both of Menomonie. Ushers were Robert Swanson of Superior and George Zimmerman of Menomonie.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home. In the evening a dance was held at the Merry Ol’ Gardens in Longwood.
The bride is a graduate from the Loyal high school in 1944, and Mr. Thomas is a graduate of the Birchwood high school. Both are graduates of Stout Institute in Menomonie. Mrs. Thomas has been employed as a teacher of home economics at the Manawa high school for the past year. Her husband is employed at his father’s resort. Next fall he will return to Stout to work on his master’s degree in industrial arts education.
They spent their honeymoon at Yellowstone National park, before taking up their temporary residence at the Thomas resort, near Birchwood.
