Scheel, Joyce  (30 JULY 1949)

Baskets of garden flowers with a background of green, decorated the Loyal Methodist church on Saturday evening, July 30, for the candlelight marriage ceremony of Joyce Scheel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Scheel Sr., and Arthur prior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Prior. The bride was given in marriage by her father, and The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated at the 8:30 service.

Ivory satin formed the bride’s gown. Her bodice was designed with  sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. The fitted waistline was detailed with a flower and seed pearl design, and the full skirt ended in a long train. A Dutch crown of seed pearls held her lace-edged fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses and white asters.

Miss Polly Prior, the groom’s sister, was maid of honor, Mrs. Joe Boyette of Mundelein, Ill., and Mrs. L? Krachnke of Park Ridge, Ill. Sister of the bride acted as the bridesmaids. Betsy Boyette and Shiela Rae Krachnke were flower girls.

The bridal aides were attired in pink, blue and yellow dotted Swiss. They carried bouquets of ? and  roses. White dotted Swiss made up the dresses worn by the flower girls.
